Fair play to Fujitsu General: the Japanese appliance brand continues to get the most out of Mark Taylor a decade after his famous ‘PlasmaVision’ spots first amused us all. And now, in a new campaign to promote the heating qualities of reverse cycle models in winter, Fujitsu General has the former Australian cricket captain showing off his mandolin skills:

This promotion is running concurrently with Fujitsu General’s sponsorship of two of the most well-supported winter sports clubs in Australia: South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL and Essendon Football Club in the AFL. Throw in a VISA Card gift-with-purchase worth up to $400 and you have a very comprehensive promotional campaign.

“This fun campaign showcases why Fujitsu is Australia’s favourite brand for both hot and cold air. Mark Taylor’s unique talent on the Mandolin is a great way to generate awareness of the heating capabilities of Fujitsu air conditioners and create a great musical spot,” said marketing manager Marc Cheah.

Still, UnderCurrent won’t be entirely convinced until it sees Tubby perfecting the greatest mandolin track of all time:
