Due to possible overheating.

Glen Dimplex is voluntarily recalling the GDC18RWA and GDC18RBA portable air conditioners manufactured in 2009 and sold throughout Australia. The affected models include: 93800001-93801000, 94000001-94001068, 94600001-94601750 and 95000001-95001068.

If used for an extended duration, there is the potential for the motor capacitor to overheat, resulting in a potential fire or smoke hazard.

“Dimplex considers customer safety and satisfaction our number one priority. This is why we invest significantly in product testing before we bring any product to market. All our products meet or exceed Australian safety requirements.

“We have seen a few cases of capacitors overheating and therefore have decided to conduct a voluntary recall.

“Whilst we are not aware of any injury caused by this potential problem, any consumers with above models should cease use of the portable air conditioner immediately and contact Glen Dimplex Australia on 1300 556 816 between 8:30am – 5pm (Mon – Fri) to arrange for the product to be collected and replaced.

“We unreservedly apologise to our customers who may have been affected and for any inconvenience caused.”
