In a surprise move, the former managing director of Sony Australia and New Zealand, Carl Rose (pictured below), was named Samsung’s new vice president of consumer electronics, effective February 29. In his most recent role, Rose was the managing director of his own consulting firm, CR Consulting, following his 26 year tenure with Sony working across various roles in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Rose will report to president, Harry Lee.

In his role, Rose will leverage his extensive experience in consumer electronics and business management to oversee television, audio visual, home appliances, air conditioning and CE business solutions within Australia.

Samsung next bought in Jeremy Senior (pictured below) as director of home appliances in March. Senior worked closely with Rose when he drove the channel strategy for consumer products in Australia for five years while Rose was managing director.

In his role at Samsung, Senior will be responsible for the growth and development of the home appliances division and will lead the home appliance team including head of product, Mike Lilly.

Paul Colley (pictured below left), who has had over 20 years’ experience working within various divisions of Sony Australia, joined Samsung as content and new business development manager in August.

Colley began working at Sony in 1998 and has held numerous roles including technical support manager, technology communications manager, head of content partnerships and network services, group manager of digital platforms, content partnerships and technology communications, and most recently, product portfolio manager for mobile devices.
