After 15 years.
Fisher & Paykel chief operating officer, Mark Pacey will be stepping down from his position after 15 years with the company. As the search for his replacement is conducted and during this transition period, Pacey will remain COO until 20 June, 2017.
Commenting on his departure, Pacey told Appliance Retailer, “It has been an absolute honour to be a part of such a great business and navigate our way to being a consistent leading player in a fiercely competitive environment. When I consider the business focus areas we always talk about the strategy, governance and the people. Without any consideration for a second thought, for me personally, it is the people within the F&P business that inspire me to achieve, and I hope, in some way, to have inspired them along the way.
“I have many productive working years ahead of me and I wish to make choices that provide family and health at the forefront of those decisions. Therefore, I feel the time is now right for me, personally and professionally, to see what opportunities and challenges are next for me to embark on. Those new opportunities are not yet clear and will evolve over the coming months.
“This has been the toughest decision that I have had to make in the 25 years of my professional life to date. I value the brands, the business and most importantly the people who I have formed relationships with over my time at Fisher & Paykel. I believe that there will be much success for the business and I look forward to seeing the success continue.”
Fisher & Paykel EVP of sales and customer experience, Laurence Mawhinney said, “Mark’s experience and knowledge of the business has continued to adapt our Australian company to meet the challenges of the trading environment we operate in, whilst at the same time continuing to build our reputation as a premium brand. His first class management and strategic skills as COO have also helped to continue to build strong relationships with our key strategic business partners.
“I would personally like to thank Mark for his many years of loyal commitment to Fisher & Paykel and especially the Australian business. We have valued his thoroughness and professional attitude and appreciate his early resignation and his commitment to hand over control of his duties in a professional and timely manner.
