In an industry-first, Taiwan-based firm, Aulux Corporation has developed a Wi-Fi multi-room speaker system with gesture control, the Auluxe E3. Users can simply spin their hand clockwise and anti-clockwise to adjust the sound volume, swipe front and back to turn the speaker on and off, and swipe side to side to skip to the next song. Users only need the Auluxe app to connect other speakers to the network.
Users can stream one song in all rooms, or up to 10 different songs in every room. Music can be played from streaming services, including Spotify, or AirPlay on Mac and iOS devices.
Speaking to Appliance Retailer, product manager, Andrew Chen said the speaker was launched in the Asian market in October 2016, but now the company is looking for distribution partners to expand into other markets. It is currently available to purchase online and in select stores in China and Taiwan for a RRP of US$499 (AU$665).
The Auluxe system produces 60 watt power output from five driver units and features HD music playback support and an LED time display. The unique elliptical shape of the speaker is designed to increase the breadth and depth of sound. It boasts a tempered ebony glass top, rich coloured wood base to allow the drivers to perform at their best, and hi-end isolation feet to reduce sound energy distortion to ensure crystal clear sound.
Aulux speakers are currently available in Europe, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia and China.
