DJl drone lands in Australia.
A mini drone that is the first to be controlled by hand gestures was launched in Sydney by DJl, a world leader in civilian drones and aerial imaging technology. In gesture mode this palm-sized quadcopter, called Spark, lets users send it up away, take a selfie and return just by using hand movements, which acts as a remote controller for the device. It can also be operated by a remote controller or mobile and is powered by a LiPo battery with a maximum flight time of 16 minutes.
New flight control options include QuickShot for recording short videos and a camera that captures 12MP photos. It has a 5m sensing range for obstacle avoidance and a 30m vision positioning range plus a Geo system for areas where flight regulations or safety or security issues may exist.
Coming in at a lightweight 300g the Spark is available in five colours and carries an RRP of $859, which include the aircraft, battery, USB charger and three pairs of propellers.
