As it focuses on channel partners.

Sonos has appointed Mark King to the newly-created role of head of sales for Sonos Australia and New Zealand. He brings over 20 years of industry experience across consumer tech, retail and the local Australian audio business.

In his new role, King will work with the company’s channel partners to create a new sales-led culture; developing and driving a growth-orientated channel strategy and putting in place effective investment programs for key channel partners.

In a statement provided to Appliance Retailer, Sonos country director, Rennie Addabbo (pictured above) said, “In recent months, Sonos has increased its investment and efforts in the independent channel and this will continue to be an area of focus for the sales team.

“The investment in senior talent comes at a pivotal time. The past 12 months has seen the company accelerate significantly across all channels in Australia off the back of our major brand campaign Waking up the Silent Home, the incredibly successful launch of Playbase and most recently, shopping on Sonos.com. With the imminent introduction of voice-enabled products and the rapid growth of music streaming in Australia, this trajectory is only set to continue.”

Sonos has also recently welcomed Jacqui Moore as marketing director ANZ and Phillipa Thomas as head of public relations ANZ. “The new hires will play a critical role in stepping up the capabilities to set us up for further growth into the future, as we continue on our mission to fill every Australian home with music,” Addabbo said.
