HUNTER VALLEY, NSW: Bing Lee stores in the Hunter have generously donated 18 televisions and DVD players to each of the New South Wales State Emergency Service’s Hunter units.
The 68 cm televisions and DVD players, worth $16,200, were handed over to SES Hunter Region Controller Greg Perry by Karen Baker from the Bing Lee Bennetts Green store, and by Mike Hathaway and Jeremy Dorricott from the Thornton store in a ceremony conducted at the Hunter Region headquarters in Metford.
The donation was in recognition of the efforts of the SES in providing assistance to the Hunter community in the June floods and storms.
According to Greg Perry, the new equipment will prove of great assistance to the region’s volunteers.
“The television and DVD will find many uses including playing training videos for our volunteers and community safety information at public events as well as enabling us to better monitor the media during operations.”
“On behalf of the SES I wish to thank Bing Lee for their public spirited donation which will play an important role in the safety of the Hunter community.”
