SYDNEY: Sony Australia announced today that over 7,500 floorstaff members have registered for company’s e-learning platform and explained a correlation between training and increased sales.
“That’s nearly seven and a half thousand floorstaff from all over the country craving information because they’re good salespeople who want to provide accurate information to the customers. And who can blame them," said Sony Australia general manager of consumer AV and IT sales, David Hargreaves, at the opening session of the company’s Experience More trade event today.
Hargreaves went on to reinforce the importance of floor staff training by explaining that the top two retail groups that have embraced the program out of the 35 that have registered have also been rewarded with a significant increase in sales.
“You can see two groups have really embraced the concept and these groups have really gained some momentum. It wouldn’t surprise you to know that this chart shows a correlation with sales increases across a number of categories but especially in high definition areas," he said.
“Floorstaff education is an initiative we will continue to invest in because we consider the easier we can make it to understand our technology, the more Sony sales your salespeople can make.”
Sony also recognised the attendance within the audience today of the top 15 finalists in the Technology Masters online competition which attracted over 400 entries from floorstaff. The competition required participants to answer 100 tough technology questions in just 30 minutes to win the best prizes ever offered by Sony Australia in an online floorstaff competition.
