QUEENSLAND: Consumer electronics brand Voxson has announced “ballistic” sales of their new HDTV tuner, the HD50, in the two weeks since appearing on retailers’ shelves.

Speaking with Current.com.au, sales manager Nick Longginou said the set-top box, which retails for $199, had “gone ballistic”. He was unable to disclose actual sales figures, though.

The tuner offers reception up to 1080i, and 40 bits per second maximum input rate.

Longginou also said sales of Voxson’s GPS navigation units had reached the 40,000 mark last year, matching the huge growth of the sector over the past twelve months.
