SYDNEY: Sony Australia has released prices for its upcoming new Bravia range, with the base 20-inch model coming in at $799 and the 52-inch W-Series topping the range at $4,699.
The prices, which arrived approximately two weeks after the official launch, run the gamut of standard retail prices for most sizes, with the smaller W-Series models (below 52-inch) costing $3,499 for the 46-inch KDL46W4000 model and $2,699 for the 40-inch KDL40W4000 model.
The W-Series range all use Sony’s new 10-bit panel which gives 64 times the colour gradation of an eight-bit panel, as well as the Bravia Engine 2 image processor and new backlight system.
Sony’s mid-range V-Series will cost $2,399 for the 40-inch KDL40V4000 model, while the 32-inch KDL32V4000 will run to $2,099. The 32-inch model is Sony’s first entry into 1080p at this size.
Both V-Series models use the same Bravia Engine 2 processor and have the same three HDMI inputs as their more expensive W-Series cousins, but lack 10-bit panels.
The base S-Series starts at $799 for the KDL20S4000, rising to $1,099 for the 26-inch KDL26S4000. The top two S-Series models will cost $1,399 for the 32-inch KDL32S4000 and $1,699 for the 37-inch KDL37S4000. All S-Series TVs run the same 720p panel and have three HDMI inputs. They also share the MPEG Enhancer system used to remove blockiness from digital broadcasts with the higher-end models.
All new models included in this list will be available from July.
