SYDNEY, NSW: German camera manufacturer Leica has released details on its new digital compact camera to be launched in June this year.
Developing on previous compact camera designs, the V-Lux 30 features a new LCD touch screen, as well as the brand new 3D shooting mode that connects two separate photographs into the one three-dimensional-style image.
Another standout of the camera is the video capability that allows for recording in 1080i-AVCHD-Full-HD format, offering the quality of a digital camcorder. According to a Leica spokesperson, “the entire 16x zoom range is available during video recording and an integrated stereo microphone with an electronic wind noise filter guarantees a crystal-clear soundtrack.”

For travellers, the in-built GPS functionality lets you save a time and location stamp on photographs, ensuring easy organisation of images. In addition, the GPS capability allows you to view local points of interest close to the place you are shooting from, with 1,000,000 different sites from all over the world to display.
The camera will be available at selected retailers from June 2011, for RRP $849. The package will also contain software support, including Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and Adobe Premiere Elements 9, for still and video image processing.
