SYDNEY, NSW: Sony’s Qriocity music service, which is now available on Android smartphones, will use 22MB of data per hour over a 3G network. This means users would need to listen to 45 hours of music to chew through 1GB of their allowance in a single month.
Earlier this week, Sony Australia announced that the Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity app was now available on the Android Marketplace. By installing this app on an Android smartphone, users can access a library of over 7 million songs on the cloud based service, which can provide mobile, customisable radio over 3G or constant aural enjoyment over a Wi-Fi network, be it at home, on a ferry or in a McDonalds.

Qriocity is also available through internet connected Sony Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players, the PS3 and PSP consoles and PCs.
There are two packages for consumers to choose from: $4.99 for the Basic and $12.99 for Premium. Only the Premium package allows users to “search and play the entire music catalogue for your territory without restrictions”, while the Basic still allows for access to “millions of songs”.
