Buffalo has released a new wireless-N router — it’s fastest ever according to the release. The AirStation Nfiniti Wireless-N High Power Router & Access Point (WZR-HP-G450H, RRP $199) has Wi-Fi speeds of up to 450 megabytes per second, in addition to a very long name.

This unit can be used individually to create a Wi-Fi network in the home, or in a pair to act as a bridge or repeater.

Here’s the leader of the local Buffalo herd, Akihito Kondo, southeast Asia and Oceania group manager.

“With the booming popularity of smartphones and tablets, we now expect to be able to take the internet with us wherever we go, from the lounge to the kitchen and every room in between,” he said.

“Plus, with the average Australian family home having more than one TV, a gaming console plus a PC and/or laptop, there are more devices than ever fighting to share a single internet connection.

“In addition, our growing appetite for rich multimedia content means not only do we want internet access in every corner of our homes, we need it to be fast and reliable to ensure our online experience is an enjoyable one. We designed our latest AirStation Nfiniti router with these aims in mind.”

This new router also includes a USB port, which can be used with an external hard drive (for example, this Buffalo unit), to create a network storage drive. This means compliant devices that are using the network can share information wirelessly.

Buffalo is distributed in Australia by Uniden.
