Talking up the new range was Panasonic Australia product marketing manager for plasma, Adam Faccin.

“This latest entry level addition to our already extensive range of Plasma VIERA TVs is the perfect Christmas present and ideal for those fans looking to upgrade their TVs for the upcoming sporting season,” said Faccin.

“At its affordable price point the UT30 Series does not compromise on features,” he added. “Consumers can enjoy outstanding 3D picture quality with improved crosstalk reduction, high-speed moving picture processing, as well as a host of clever and convenient features ideal for the connected home.”

The models feature HDMI and DLNA connectivity for sharing media with other devices, as well as three USB ports that allow users to record content and store it on an external drive. There is an SD card port for recording and playing back video and with the addition of an optional adaptor the UT30 Series is Wi-Fi ready.

The 42-inch UT30 Series Plasma TV (TH-P42UT30A) is available for RRP $1,099, while the 50-inch model (TH-P50UT30A) is available for RRP $1,299.
