Dyson has appointed Ed Culley to the role of ANZ managing director, replacing Michael Read. A Briton, Culley has been working at Dyson in various roles since 2002.

After sales and marketing roles at PepsiCo, Heinz and Unilever, Culley joined Dyson as its UK sales director. He was then appointed general manager for Dyson Commercial in Europe, where he led the once-flagging business to market leadership in the commercial hand dryer category.

Culley was then promoted to managing director of International Business Development, where he was charged with delivering growth in current and emerging international markets. Dyson reports that under Culley’s leadership, international business sales doubled during his first 12 months in the role.

In his first interview upon arriving at Dyson’s Australian offices, Culley acknowledged the tough economic climate being faced by suppliers and retailers.

“I’m excited to be here to lead the Dyson Australia operations through these challenging times and towards the next chapter of growth,” Culley told Current.com.au.

“Dyson is known for innovative technology products, and even within the changing retail landscape and uncertain economic climate, it is this that will continue to ensure Dyson’s success.

“I am looking forward to working with the Australian team and our Australian retail partners, who have always been strong advocates of Dyson technology.”
