Sharp has announced the launch of a new range of LED LCD televisions targeted at Australian families looking to add an additional TV set to their home. The Edge LED LCD 835X range is available in 4 sizes – including 40, 46, 52 and 60-Inch models.

For all the tech specs of the new flat panels, here’s Sharp Corporation of Australia national marketing manager, Mark Beard.

“These LED Backlit LCD TVs combine elegant design and superior performance with the added advantages of Web Browser and Skype functions, in-built 3D emitter and 2d to 3D conversion mode to ensure consumers get the most out of their Sharp TV,” said Beard.

“Digital audio clarity is also ensured with this range featuring a digital amplifier and high power audio output (10 watts per channel with an additional 15-watt woofer), combined with TruSurround Sound and Bass Enhancer for movie theatre-like sound enhancement,” he added.

The 835X models feature Sharp’s 3D Quattron and AquoMotion technology for a high-resolution display, as well as Optical Picture Control (OPC) that automatically adjusts the screen brightness to suit ambient lighting conditions in any room. They also offer HDMI, USB, LAN, Component, PC-in and RS-232C input, as well as Optical Audio out and Audio out/headphone output.

According to Sharp, “Research has found that television is a universally important platform, with consumers in many markets spending more than four hours per day watching television. With this time being spent watching TV, we all find different household members want to watch different programs, which in turn has lead to Australians adopting a ‘TV-per-room’ mentality.”

The 835X range will be available November.
