Intelematics Australia has made a series of staffing changes, appointing a new general manager and chief technology officer. A subsidiary of the RACV, Intelematics Australia operates the SUNA Traffic Channel used by most in-car navigation devices to keep users updated with the fastest routes based on congestion levels.

The new general manager is David Henderson and the new chief technology officer is Darren McRostie. Both appointees will be based in Melbourne and report to CEO Adam Game.

Intelematics Australia media statement:

“In his new role, Henderson is responsible for providing product and operational leadership for the growing telematics business, which includes a team of eight dedicated telematics staff.

“The growth of Intelematics’ telematics operations has the company positioned as a major player in the market, capable of creating and managing the most sophisticated telematics programs both in Australia and international markets.:

“The development team [now led by McRostie] provides technical innovation, creation and deployment of Intelematics’ two product groups, telematics and traffic, and in his role Darren will oversee the creation and maintenance of the back-end telematics systems, traffic and content products and services.

“Intelematics also designs and develops front-end design of mobile and customer facing web applications. The development team has grown to include 19 staff, with further appointments set to be made as the company looks ahead to a transitional phase for the in-car technology sector in Australia."
