Hot on the heels of Winning Appliances opening its high concept showroom, Garry Thyer’s Betta Home Living in Townsville has also unwrapped a new dedicated kitchen space, focused on nine major brands.

Instead of having a small number of products from a lot of suppliers, Garry Thyer’s has installed full kitchens from its key partners so customers can get a sense of what their new kitchen could look like.

The new set-up also includes a demonstration kitchen so customers can return post-purchase to learn how to make the most of their appliance investment.

“We wanted to bring in an area dedicated to cooking,” said assistant store manager Jamie Clarke. “We want to showcase appliances, instead of simply selling them, and we want to teach our customers how to use all of the functions available on their new products.”

Clarke said steam cooking, rotisserie functions and induction cooktops were the most mysterious features of the modern cooking appliance.

The new showroom is located in the existing store at Domain Central, 103 Duckworth Street, Garbutt (around 4.5 kilometres west of the Townsville CBD). Clarke paid tribute to the core suppliers who made it possible: Miele, Smeg, Electrolux (including AEG and Westinghouse), St George, Robinhood, Beko and Emilia Glem.
