Shriro Australia has announced that its New Zealand subsidiary Monaco Corporation will acquire Robinhood Appliances, effective 16 September 2013.

As a result of the acquisition, Shriro Australia will act as distributor for Robinhood in the Australian market, while “strategic direction, marketing and product management” for the brand will be based in New Zealand.

Monaco Corporation currently distributes the Omega, Blanco and Everdure appliance brands in New Zealand, as well as the Casio and Pioneer electronics brands. Monaco has acquired the Robinhood Appliances brand from subsidiaries of the DuluxGroup Limited.

Shriro CEO Michael Westrup said: “Monaco Corporation, a New Zealand company with a long and rich history, will effectively be bringing back to New Zealand, Robinhood Industries — originally a Kiwi company established in 1986”.

Monaco Corporation general manager Carl Pauling was also positive about the move.

“This is an exciting acquisition which will play a big part in the expansion of Monaco,” he said. “We welcome the Robinhood Brand into the Shriro and Monaco stable.”
