Sunbeam is adding an after-sales incentive for consumers who purchase the brand’s flagship coffee machine, offering two free tickets to the Sunbeam Coffee School as well as free coffee beans with the sale.

While consumers normally receive a ticket to the coffee school with the purchase of Sunbeam's top three models, the promotion, which runs until 30 September, offers an additional ticket as well as a 1-kilogram bag of Campos Superior Coffee Beans with every retail purchase of the EM7000 Espresso machine.

Sunbeam’s product marketing manager for coffee, Tim Anderson, said the coffee school gives consumers plenty of tips for making great coffee on a manual machine.

“They sit down and one of the baristas takes them through a quick overview of the machine, as well finding the right coffee beans, how to keep them fresh and how to grind them for espresso. Then the majority of the class is practical,” said Anderson.

“We have the EM7000 machine set up, and the baristas go around and help people, taking them through tips and tricks on how to make the best espresso. They also run through the cleaning and maintenance as well, because that’s important for the longevity of the product.”

According to Anderson, the coffee school has been a great success for Sunbeam, ultimately because it helps consumers get the most out of their product.

“That’s the driving force behind the coffee school,” he said. “I guess you find some of the hesitancy with manual machines is that some people don’t understand how easy it is to use. This school just helps them out with that; it helps them to be the best barista they can at home.”
