Described as a “fusion between light and sound,” Yamaha’s LSX-700 Lighting/Audio system has been awarded a Red Dot for excellence in product design.
Released in January this year, the LSX-700 is the first foray into lighting for the global sound company. Its features include adjustable LEDs, wireless music streaming and app control.
“As a company, we’re constantly looking to push the boundaries of product design and it’s encouraging that this endeavour has been recognised on the world stage,” said Damien Henderson, product specialist for Yamaha Music Australia’s AV Division.
The LSX-700 is designed to be an unobtrusive and understated addition to any interior and is available now for RRP $699.
“The LSX-700 realises the fundamental design principles of all of Yamaha’s products by adopting an elegantly simple exterior which is practical, enduring and beautifully crafted,” Henderson said.
The international competition received entries from 53 countries and judging was based on criteria such as design innovation and functionality. Yamaha has won a total of 15 Red Dot awards over the years.
