What’s the most effective geometric shape for combating hot summer days? It’s the triangle! At least that’s the message in Samsung’s amusing new scare campaign that matches some fantastically overwrought ham acting with so much hellish imagery it’s hard not to steam up just watching it:

Air conditioning is one of several appliance categories Samsung is pushing hard this summer, along with its new Water Wall dishwashers, which are being officially launched later this week and are already being promoted in TVCs in partnership with Harvey Norman; and washing machines and dryers, which are both currently subject to attractive cashback offers.
UnderCurrent notes that Samsung is also running a consumer promotion on its Triangle air conditioners, with 15 per cent cashback available on selected units sold before 30 November 2014 and then 5 per cent cashback on selected models from 1-to-14 December 2014.
So what exactly is so special about a Triangle design? According to Samsung, this shape, combined with powerful airflow, helps maximise air in and air out, “to cool your home: fast, far and wide”.
