In a challenge to Korean brands Samsung and LG, TCL Australia is bringing its first curved, 4K Ultra HD TVs to market from July 2015.
TCL launched a full range of UHD TVs in Australia last year, now it is adding two curved units to the mix, a 65-inch (RRP $3,299) and 55-inch (RRP $2,199) model.
“With the launch of our curved 4K UHD TVs we’re extremely proud to be continuing our promise of providing exciting and market-leading technology at affordable prices for Australian consumers,” said Harry Wu managing director of TCL Australia.
Both models will feature new Wide Colour Enhancer Plus technology, 3D capabilities, Harman Kardon speakers and function on a new Android Smart TV operating platform, designed for ease of use and navigation.
TCL is also launching Go Live 2.0, which will give TCL customers access “to hundreds of popular global TV channels. This new innovation will enable consumers to stream international content direct to their homes through TCL’s exclusive Go Live capability.” The company is yet to confirm any specific channels but says the service will be on TVs when they go on sale.
“There’s a reason TCL has become known for producing market-leading televisions. As the only Chinese TV manufacturer with full supply chain penetration we are able to invest more in their development and save in their production,” said Kevin Wang, general manager of TCL’s Oversea Business Centre. “What this means is the very latest technology, the finest picture quality, most impressive design, and greatest functionality are all presented to the consumer at a price that few can match.”
TCL is also expanding on its 4K UHD offering in Australia, and will launch four brand new 4K UHD series catering to a range of price points from a 40-inch model available for RRP $799 up to an 85-inch for RRP $9,999. These models will be available from May 2015.
