Telstra has replaced the role that its head of retail, Gordon Ballantyne, held prior to his resignation this week with three senior executives, all of whom will report directly to chief executive Andy Penn. Telstra Retail is the strongest arm of the communications giant and responsible for 65% of Telstra’s financial year 2015 revenue. Ballantyne had worked for the company for five years.
Consumer and products group managing director Karsten Wildberger (pictured) will now head up Telstra’s retail division. He previously helped run Vodafone Romania.
Head of strategic finance Cynthia Whelan, will permanently take on the role of group executive international and new business, which was previously led by Penn.
Telstra Media group managing director Joe Pollard will now also become its chief marketing officer.
