Unveils new TV range, first 4K Blu-ray player.
Panasonic has launched a new range of 4K Viera televisions as well as Australia’s first 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player – the UB900 which will arrive in September.
The top end DX900 models, available from late May in 58-inches (RRP $5799) and 65-inches (RRP $7149) feature 1000 nits of peak brightness for a premium HDR experience and an ‘art of light’ design with chrome pedestals.
At the launch, held in Sydney yesterday, the Viera DX900 model was demonstrated with the Australia’s first 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player (the UB900, pictured below) which is expected to be priced over $1000 when it is released later this year. Panasonic estimates that 30 Ultra HD software titles will be available locally by August with expectations of over 100 titles by Christmas.
“As demand for 4K video continues to expand, the UB-900 offers a new video viewing experience for those who demand uncompromised quality in picture and sound,” said Panasonic senior product manager, Maetham Roomi.
Panasonic also announced the release of an additional 8 models of 4K televisions which are all now available for retailers – the DX740 and DX700 Series in 50-inch (RRP $2649), 58-inch (RRP $3299) and 65-inch (RRP $4599), the DX640 Series in 55-inch (RRP $2999) and 65-inch (RRP $4199). Also announced were the DX600 Series in 40-inch (RRP $1749) available in late May, the 49-inch ($2199) available in late July and 55-inch ($2649) available in late May.
A range of seven new Full HD LED LCD televisions were also launched in the DS610 series including three models available now to retailers in 40-inch (RRP $1449), 50-inch (RRP $1899) and 65-inch (RRP $3649) as well as a 55inch model (RRP $2299) which will be available in Late May. Within the D400 Series of Full HD LED LCD televisions, the 32-inch (RRP $549) and the 49-inch (RRP $1449) model are available now, while the 40-inch model (RRP $1099) will be available in late May.
Panasonic also released a new Blu-ray range of products available in May including the 760GN Blu-ray Disc Recorder with 1 terabyte hard disc with twin HD tuners (RRP $749), the 460GN Blu-ray Disc Recorder with 500GB hard disc and twin HD tuners (RRP $549), the 560GN Blu-ray Disc Player with 500GB hard disc recorder and twin HD tuners (RRP $599), the 260GN hard disc recorder with 1 terabyte hard disc drive and twin HD tuners (RRP $549) as well as three smart Blu-ray Players ranging in price from RRP $149 to $249 that are currently available to retailers.
