LG Electronics has filmed the first Tottenham Hotspur Premier League football match in 8K format. The footage has been edited into a 75-second video that will be on display exclusively on the 2020 LG 8K OLED and NanoCell TVs in selected retailers globally from the end of March.
LG 8K TVs deliver four times more detail than 4K TV and 16 times more than HD TV. The latest LG 8K TVs feature upgraded performance thanks to the new α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 AI Processor. By leveraging deep learning technology, the 2020 line-up delivers optimised picture and sound quality for all types of content through AI-based upscaling.
“At LG we are passionate about pushing boundaries with our technology to create a sport viewing experience as if you were in the stands,” LG Electronics Australia marketing manager home entertainment, Tony Brown said. “From colour TV in the 1980s to 3D and 4K content in the 2010s, the creation of this footage puts LG at the forefront of a long line of technical advancements brought into the family home via the television.”
Tottenham Hotspur head of partnerships, Fran Jones said the world-class stadium is the most technologically advanced of its kind in the world. “It is therefore fitting and exciting for LG to feature it in 8K and bring it to life in even higher resolution for viewers worldwide.”
