Smeg has been recognised for its successful sustainable development with an internationally acclaimed accolade in The Best 200 Green Stars of Italy Awards.
The recognition was awarded by the German Institute of Quality ITQF in collaboration with the Institute of Management and Economic Research IMWF in Hamburg.
The recent survey entitled Green Stars – Sustainability 2021, ranked Smeg first in the ‘Durable Consumer Goods’ category as the most committed company to green economy strategies working for a better impact on the environment and society.
According to the Institute, the survey represents in-depth social listening research on sustainability reputation and is based on more than one million online sources including dossiers, comments and press releases.
Smeg Australia managing director, Wayne Campbell said Smeg is committed to continued social and environmental sustainability.
“We are honoured to be recognised for integrating sustainability values within the company organisation,” he said.
Smeg said its major appliances, small appliances and professional foodservice appliances are designed and manufactured with an emphasis on high performance and low consumption materials for environmental sustainability.
