Samsung Electronics is releasing its new Galaxy Tab A8, which claims to be the most streamlined and powerful Tab A Series device yet.

The Galaxy Tab A8 sports a lightweight design featuring an expanded 10.5-inch screen with slim bezel and 16:10 common aspect ratio for an 80% screen to body ratio that delivers a more immersive viewing experience than predecessor models. The enhanced viewing experience is supported by a quad-speaker with Dolby Atmos.

With Samsung TV Plus and more than 200 free channels, Galaxy Tab A8 users can enjoy live and on-demand entertainment. New users will receive two months of ad-free YouTube Premium.

The Galaxy Tab A8’s CPU and GPU have each been increased by 10% to deliver faster, smoother performance. Plus, several tiers of storage options are on offer from 32GB, 64GB or new to Galaxy Tab A8, 128GB of storage. The expandable microSD card feature allows for up to 1TB of space.

In addition, the new Galaxy Tab A8 comes with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 7,040mAh battery with up to 15-watts fast-charging.

For added peace of mind, the Galaxy Tab A8 offers interactive educational content and parental controls. Users can instantly access a comprehensive snapshot of device usage and activity, as well as set screen time goals and track progress against them.

For multitasking, the screen can be split to use two apps side-by-side, and even add a pop-up window with Multi-Active Window. The Drag & Split feature automatically opens a second browser window for webpage browsing.

The 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera are coupled with a new Screen Recorder feature to record videos. Users can transition from the Galaxy Tab A8 to a Galaxy smartphone, share text, a webpage, images and more between the devices with a quick copy and paste. The device is backed by Samsung’s industry-leading Knox security platform with multi-layer protection, while face recognition provides easy access.

Available in grey, silver and new pink gold, the Galaxy Tab A8 will be rolled out globally from January 2022.
