Designed for portability and power, ASUS’ new ROG Flow Z13, which the Taiwan-based company labels “the world’s most powerful tablet”, is out now at select Australian retailers.
The device comes from the ASUS gaming sub-brand Republic of Gamers, known for producing high-end hardware and peripherals for gaming activities.
Touch-enabled and supporting both mouse and keyboard and gamepad inputs, the ROG Flow Z13 is a hybrid laptop that aims to combine tablet mobility with the versatility of a PC. Weighing in at just 1.1kg and 12mm thick, it’s highly portable while maintaining the power needed for gaming.
With player customisation in mind, the Z13 includes a 13-inch display capable of a refresh rate of up to 120Hz in full HD for smooth gaming action, or 4K resolution at 60Hz for greater visual detail.
In a unique configuration, the Z13’s components are located behind the screen, intended to provide greater airflow and keep cool during use. Here, it includes up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H processor, 16GB of high-speed 5200MHz LPDDR5 memory, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU.
The graphical capabilities of the Z13 can be upgraded with external GPUs via the XG Mobile ecosystem to increase performance rivalling that of a desktop PC. Users can connect up to a GeForce RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6850M XT graphics cards using the separate XG Mobile hardware, which helps to boost gaming and content creation performance.
Dual USB-C ports mean users can seamlessly connect to additional displays or storage devices to enhance the Z13’s capabilities beyond the tablet’s internal 1TB PCIe SSD.
ASUS’ ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet is available from select Australian retailers with RRPs starting from $2,499.
