Amazon has expanded its Echo Show range with the introduction of the Echo Show 15, featuring a 15.6-inch 1080p Full HD display that can be placed on a bench or wall mounted in either portrait or landscape orientation.

The redesigned home screen enables users to easily view connected devices, calendars, to-do lists, reminders and meal inspiration, designed to help households stay better connected and organised. Thanks to the next-generation Amazon AZ2 Neural Edge processor, the Echo Show 15 also delivers a smoother and faster experience than its predecessors.

To complement the ambient rotating content, the device home screen can be customised using a new widgets gallery to choose and add the most useful information. Alexa widgets are continually refreshed and can be easily rearranged.

With the new visual ID feature, Alexa can recognise the user and accordingly personalise the on-screen information on Echo Show 15. After enrolling in visual ID, if the user walks in front of Echo Show 15, Alexa will recognise them and the screen will automatically update to show a custom greeting, personal reminders, calendar events, recently played music, or personal notes from household members.

With Echo Show 15, users can view and update the household’s shared calendar, add or remove items from the shopping list, check the to-do list, and more. Alexa also makes it easier to have hands-free assistance, find recipe inspiration, get cooking conversions and stay organised, with simultaneous functions like timers, music and recipes working seamlessly.

A smart home favourites widget lets users view and control the most-used compatible smart home devices with just a tap. The large screen allows users to easily see recipe images and ingredients on the same screen, or see who’s at the door with compatible smart doorbells.

With support for 1080p video streaming, Echo Show 15 can also double as a small TV with content from Prime Video and Netflix or catch up on news from ABC, news.com.au, and Sky News Australia. Users can also display full-screen pictures from Amazon Photos or alternate visuals from pre-loaded art, nature, seasonal, or travel galleries.

Echo Show 15 is designed with privacy in mind. It has microphone and camera controls, the ability to view and delete voice recordings, and a built-in shutter to cover the camera. Visual ID is optional and requires explicit enrolment, and the profile can be deleted at any time through the on-device settings or the Alexa app.

Echo Show 15 is now available for $399, or for $448.95 for the bundle with compatible tilt stand. Countertop stands and under-cabinet mount accessories are sold separately.
