La Pavoni presented its range of domestic, semi-professional and professional coffee machines at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE) last week.

La Pavoni was founded in 1905 and is the original manufacturer of espresso machines. To this day all machines are handmade in Milan using traditional components including copper and brass boilers, as well as brass group heads. La Pavoni was acquired by Smeg in September 2019.

La Pavoni head of marketing, Livia McRobert said as one of the brand’s first experiential events, MICE was a positive experience for the La Pavoni team.

“We were delighted by the feedback regarding the design, functionality and, most importantly, taste from both coffee aficionados and the commercial trade. La Pavoni’s Italian history and signature innovation resonated with all stand visitors, especially those who appreciate authenticity as much as a fine espresso,” she told Appliance Retailer.

Among the machines on display at the La Pavoni stand was the Lever Expo 2015 LPLEXP01AU with elegantly crafted wooden handles and topped with the iconic Italian Eagle in Gold Chrome. The traditional lever system allows for full control over pressure throughout the coffee extraction process producing truly unique and memorable espresso shots. A removable drip tray accommodates larger cups and promises easy cleaning and maintenance. It retails for $1,990.

The La Pavoni Semi-Professional Cellini Classic LPSCCC01AU incorporates the efficient heat exchanger that brews and steams at the same time using only one heating element. The copper steam boiler provides powerful and reliable steam pressure to produce multiple coffees quickly. The built-in pressure gauge gives precise feedback within the extraction chamber while the insulated steam wand is safe to touch, easy to clean and can swivel for comfort while texturing milk. It retails for $2,990.

The La Pavoni Botticelli Semi-Professional LPSGEV03AU is a dual boiler machine that utilises a PID LED display for monitoring and control of the brewing temperature and steam pressure for optimum performance. The dedicated copper boilers for espresso and steam are supported with a rotary pump system for a premium coffee experience. This machine can be plumbed in or used with the built-in water tank. It retails for $4,390.

The La Pavoni Jolly Dosato Lusso Grinder LPGJDL01AU has a 250 gram bean hopper to store coffee beans to use in conjunction with a La Pavoni manual coffee machine. A flat burr grinder achieves a consistent grind size for espresso while the dosing chamber controls the coffee delivery. A grinding cradle stabilises and centres the portafilter or dosing cup when grinding. It retails for $790.
