Belkin has held a media event at Sydney’s Bondi Beach under the theme ‘Tech Ready for Today’ to debut its new surge protection line-up, as well as showcase its latest wireless charging and personal audio products.

The refreshed surge protection range was pioneered in Australia by the local Belkin team to address local needs and deliver the latest technologies, backed by Belkin’s comprehensive testing, certifications and premium design.

“For Belkin, both locally and globally, it’s been a tremendous year of growth as consumers continue to positively respond to our product innovation,” Belkin ANZ managing director, Stephanie Caulfield (pictured below) said.

“We chose the theme ‘Tech Ready for Today’ for our product showcase as it truly epitomises our mission and what we strive to achieve for consumers. We are here to make everyday lives better, more convenient and more manageable through delivering a wide range of technologies and accessories.

“Wireless charging continues to demonstrate Belkin’s leadership with the recent launch of our Qi2 range of products, being first to market in Australia. Qi2 wireless charging offers incredible benefits to consumers and as the smartphone industry continues to evolve, investing in Qi2 chargers delivers a future-proof fast charging experience.

“Portable power has long been a mainstay in the Belkin product range, and we continue to innovate in the space which is seen as mature by many others. Our recently launched Hybrid Wall Charger + Power Bank is a testament to this, as is our new powerbank range, with more products to launch in the next six to 12 months.

“The audio category continues to go from strength to strength at Belkin. In a highly competitive market, we continue to stand apart with a wide range of audio products that deliver performance, design and value. We are demonstrating that we have options for every age and every ear. We are committed to this category for the long-term with strong support from our retailers and an exciting pipeline of audio products launching in the next six to 12 months.

“For the first time, we are presenting the new range of Belkin surge protection products. This is a global range driven by the ANZ product team and signifies the first time in several years that the range has been refreshed. While surge protection may not always steal the limelight, it plays an important role in protecting the major devices and appliances we have throughout our homes.”

Available in one, four, six and eight outlet options, the new surge protection range delivers up to 1,800 joule ratings, fast charging dual USC-C power delivery ports, hardworking MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors), six- or 11-point safety systems and increased connected equipment warranties.

Belkin surge protectors safeguard home and office electronics from potentially dangerous power surges, while offering a Connected Equipment Warranty (CEW), which goes beyond standard product warranties. This means connected devices such as phones, laptops, washing machines or TVs, are covered in the event of damage caused by electrical surges or lightning strikes while properly connected to a Belkin surge protector. Belkin will replace or repair the connected equipment.

In addition to CEW coverage extending up to $70,000 (for the eight outlet surge protector), Belkin’s surge protection comes with a two-year warranty. Further cementing Belkin’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the entire range is housed in plastic free packaging.

A recessed power switch helps prevent accidental shut off, while a built-in indicator light shows when protection is active and working. The two-metre power cord allows for easy placement under a desk or behind appliances. Plus, built-in mounting holes provide flexibility to hang, mount, or attach the surge protector where needed.

The four, six and eight outlet models all feature USB-C ports that offer power delivery charging to compatible devices, charging them faster than standard USB-A ports. Onboard PPS (Programmable Power Supply) technology detects the connected device and delivers the optimal amount of power. Two fast charging USB-C power delivery and PPS ports provide convenient expansion and flexibility with up to 30W of power shared across the two ports to fast charge smartphones and other devices.

The surge protectors also offer overvoltage, over-temperature, overload, over-current, short-circuit and clamping voltage defense.

The four, six and eight outlet surge protectors can be purchased at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Bunnings and the Belkin Australia website with RRPs starting from $79.95. The one outlet surge protector will be available soon for RRP $34.95.
