Olimpia Splendid has recalled its Caldo Relax (99316) and Caldo Whisper (VH-2000) fan heaters due to risk of serious burn injury and property damage if the heater overheats and catches fire.
In a statement shared with Appliance Retailer, Olimpia Splendid said: “We have had to recall a couple of our fan heaters due to a faulty protection switch. This was found in a random audit by Worksafe New Zealand with the hazard being risk of serious burn injury and property damage if the heater overheats and catches fire.
“We ask that retailers contact customers who have purchased the models to return them for a full refund. We appreciate their help in this matter and we will in turn issue a full credit to the retailer. If they have any questions, they can contact Olimpia Splendid directly via sales@olimpiasplendid.com.au or 03 9563 2778.”
The heaters were available for purchase from 1 July 2019 to 24 June 2024 via Amazon, Betta Electrical, Betta Home Living, Bi-Rite Electrical, Domayne, Harvey Norman, Joyce Mayne, Kogan and The Good Guys.
