Good360 Australia, the largest digital marketplace for the retail industry to donate unused and unsold consumer goods, and the Large Format Retailers Association (LFRA), have announced a new partnership that will enable more retailers to reduce waste, improve efficiency and profitability, and help people in need across Australia.

LFRA members include Barbeques Galore, Bunnings, Domayne, e&s, Harris Scarfe, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Joyce Mayne, Kitchen Warehouse, Officeworks and The Good Guys.

The LFRA has joined Good360 as a supporting partner, alongside other organisations including the Australian Retailers Association (ARA), Australasian Promotional Product Association and Green Friday. The collaboration aims to extend the reach of Good360, champion the large format retail sector’s role and leadership in advancing more sustainable practices and support more retailers to join Good360.

Working with a network of over 600 retail and business partners, Good360 distributes unsold goods through more than 4,500 charities and disadvantaged schools across the country.

Good360 Australia founder and managing director, Alison Covington (pictured) said, “We are thrilled to partner with the LFRA, the national peak industry association for Australia’s large format tetail sector. We are excited about the potential of this partnership to make a real difference. By working together, we can help build a more efficient and sustainable retail sector, promote the shift to a more circular economy, and help maximise positive impact in our communities.

“Research shows that each year in Australia more than $2.5 billion worth of unsold household goods are wasted. Circular models can reduce waste and lower costs, while benefiting people and our planet. Retailers, especially in the large format retail sector, have a real opportunity to embrace this change and enhance their ESG impact, and it makes financial sense to do so. We look forward to working closely with the LFRA and its members.”

LFRA CEO, Philippa Kelly, said, “We are delighted to join Good360 Australia as a supporting partner. Through this partnership, we can raise awareness of these issues, as well as the opportunities and benefits for retailers in donating excess stock.

“LFRA members will gain access to Good360’s comprehensive systems and networks, simplifying the process of donating surplus goods and amplifying their social and environmental impact. Together, we can drive meaningful change and help set the standard for excess inventory management.”
