LG Electronics Australia sales director for consumer electronics, Murray Richardson has decided to leave the company after 20 years to embark on a new chapter and spend more time with his family.

Since joining LG in 2004, Richardson has been a key member of the company, demonstrating leadership across various roles. From national manager to general manager in home appliances, to his latest role as sales director for consumer electronics, Richardson’s adaptability and deep understanding of the LG business has contributed to many successes.

Commenting on his departure, Richardson said: “My time at LG has been an incredible journey, and while I’m sad to say goodbye, I’m equally excited for the next chapter ahead.

“Reflecting on my experience, I’m proud of the many accomplishments we’ve achieved together, from leading the strategic restructure of our key account management team to strengthening relationships with our valued retail partners.

“I’ve also had the privilege of creating wonderful memories, with many trips alongside our partners and showcasing LG’s innovative products. I’m grateful for the support and opportunities LG has provided, allowing me to do what I love. Thank you for being part of this journey.”

LG Electronics Australia managing director, Dan Lim said, “Murray has been key to our success over the past 20 years, leaving a lasting impact on the company. With such a long-standing tenure, his contributions while working alongside seven managing directors and six chief financial officers have been invaluable.

“While we are sad to see him go, it’s important to celebrate everything he has achieved. From the successful launch of groundbreaking technology to nurturing strong relationships with our retail partners and fostering a positive team culture, Murray has been at the heart of it all. We thank him for his dedication and contributions to LG and wish him every success in his future endeavours. We certainly hope our paths will cross again.”

Richardson will finish with LG in November 2024. LG sales general managers, Joshua Marshall and Frank Malcaus, will take over responsibilities as interim leaders while recruitment takes place.
