ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has presented its ROG laptop line-up for this year at CES 2025 featuring the latest processors from Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA designed for elevated performance.
The line-up includes the ROG Strix series with new chassis and cooling designs, new Flow Z13, updates to the ROG Zephyrus series and complete redesign of the XG Mobile to include Thunderbolt 5 support.
ROG Strix
The 2025 ROG Strix line-up (below) features bold new chassis designs for the new Intel-based Strix SCAR 16, Strix SCAR 18, Strix G16, and Strix G18, including full-surround RGB lighting and the first tool-less bottom panel available in a gaming laptop.
With a single button press, users can open the device to clean fans or upgrade RAM and storage with no ribbon cables or screws required. All 2025 Strix models feature a dual-layer ACR film on the display, which reduces reflections by 55% and boosts contrast by 4.5 times.
The 2025 range features up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, supercharging gaming, productivity and creative experiences, with advanced features like the latest NVIDIA DLSS 4 technologies.
The 2025 Strix series also boasts the latest processors from both AMD and Intel. The next-gen Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX is available on both Strix SCAR models, as well as the Strix G16 and G18, while the AMD-equipped Strix G16 and Strix G18 feature the latest AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D (Strix G16) or Ryzen 9 9955HX (Strix G18) processors.
This year, ROG uses a new sandwiched heatsink design on its Intel-based Strix machines to save space and increase cooling efficiency. The thermal system allows these laptops to push up to 240W of power with less noise than the previous generation, while integrated dust filters keep debris out of the system.
The 2025 AMD-based Strix G16 and G18 are cooled by seven heat pipes with full-surround vents and a full-width heatsink for improved heat dissipation.
ROG Flow Z13
Since its debut in 2022, the ROG Flow Z13 has been the benchmark of power and portability in a gaming tablet. In 2025, ROG introduces a new chiplet processor from AMD, the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. This desktop-class CPU also features RDNA 3.5 graphics cores. Dedicated NPU cores also make the Flow Z13 a capable AI PC, with 50 TOPS of total NPU compute power to deliver an enhanced Copilot+ experience.
The Flow Z13 features premium power-delivery components including 14 power phases and Japanese capacitors. Its processor utilises a unified quad-channel memory design for the device to share up to 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM between both the CPU and GPU cores dynamically.
The new vapour chamber is built with a combination of stainless steel and copper and offers 54% more coverage of the mainboard compared to the previous generation. This design keeps the vapour chamber low-profile yet rigid, all while delivering enhanced cooling performance. The Flow Z13 features a redesigned pathing for air from the pair of 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans to keep skin temperatures lower during use.
The 2.5K 180Hz ROG Nebula Display boasts 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and 500 nits of peak brightness. The device also comes with a 200W charging port, dedicated HDMI port, plus dual USB-A and dual USB-C ports.
ROG Zephyrus
The ROG Zephyrus G14 features up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and a dedicated NPU with 50 TOPS of total NPU compute power for an enhanced Copilot+ experience. Meanwhile, the Zephyrus G16 incorporates an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 285H and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.
The GPU comes with professional-grade hardware designed for demanding AI, video, 3D, livestreaming and workflows, powered by GeForce RTX. It also comes with NVIDIA Studio optimisations and enables users to run generative AI models.
With an improved heatpipe design paired with 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans, the system is 23% more efficient than previous models.
Equipped with ROG Nebula Displays with an OLED panel, the Zephyrus gaming laptops boast 3K resolution on the G14 and 2.5K resolution on the G16, up to 240Hz refresh rates, and support for NVIDIA G-SYNC.
XG Mobile
ROG is re-introducing the XG Mobile, now with Thunderbolt 5, allowing the external GPU broad compatibility, capable of powering up the gaming performance of Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, and USB4 devices. The two models in the range feature an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU.
Both models have a new chassis design, complete with an off-black semi-transparent casing and new stainless steel vapour chamber, which reduces weight without reducing surface contact or cooling efficiency.
Part external GPU and part external dock, the XG Mobile has extensive connectivity including a single Thunderbolt 5 cable, dual USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, 5Gbps Ethernet port, UHS-II MicroSD card reader, and an additional downstream Thunderbolt 5 port.
