A product recall has just been announced on a brand of heater light exhaust fans which can apparently shock consumers when they attempt to change the light globe.
The product recall has been issued on Brilliant Lighting’s ‘Glace’ heater light exhaust fan with item number 99987 and approval number N21275. The product was sold at specialist lighting retailers in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA and TAS between September 2006 and March 2009.
The reason for the recall is that the model has partially exposed live terminals to the central 60W light lampholder and therefore there is potential for injury and electric shock when consumers change the internal light bulb.
The recall document is urging consumers with affected models to call the toll free number 1800 282 311 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm AEST). Consumers can still continue use of the product but must not remove the cover to replace the internal central 60W light bulb.
