With new range unveiled at MWC.
Alcatel has showcased three new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The range consists of the A5 LED-covered smartphone, U5 and A3 smartphones, all sitting at what the company describes as “aggressive price points”.
The Alcatel A5 is the world’s first interactive LED-covered smartphone, the A5 LED has been designed with the young consumer in mind. It enables users to light up notifications for incoming calls, messages, alarms, and social media alerts; create LED cover patterns and themes for a different look every day; and light that moves with the music, switching with a simple shake.
It has fast 4G LTE connectivity and an octa-core processor that ensures photos, games, and movies load smoothly to the large 5.2-inch HD display.
The Alcatel A5 LED also has a 5MP front camera with selfie flash. Face Beauty software can be used for flawless images and Face Show lets users turn selfies into personalised video clips. There is also an 8MP rear camera with dual-tone flash.
The Alcatel U5 is the most affordable 4G smartphone, designed for first-time smartphone buyers. A large 5-inch display delivers a great viewing experience, while fast 4G LTE connectivity provides smooth video streaming. It sports an ergonomic body and slim curved edges. Its back cover has micro-pattern textures, with gloss finish and matching frames in vibrant colors.
Bringing premium design and secure fingerprint capabilities to the affordable smartphone market, the new A3 smartphone offers fingerprint access for enhanced security, with Private Mode to protect sensitive data.
It features a 5MP front camera with selfie flash and a 13MP rear camera with LED flash. Users can take selfies with one touch of the fingerprint sensor and add fun effects using Face Mask and Face Show.
