Aldi has kicked off its four-year expansion plan with the company announcing 14 new stores in Western Australia and 10 more in South Australia. This will bring the store footprint to 33 in Western Australia and 28 in South Australia.
Aldi’s long-term expansion in Western Australia will see up to 70 stores developed across the state, with 1,200 new permanent jobs to be created state-wide over the coming years. South Australia will see in excess of 50 stores developed across the state, with up to 900 new permanent jobs to be created state-wide.
Over the last two years, Aldi has opened three distribution centres and grown its store network by over 100 new stores. The company has said that expansion to date has seen the supermarket capture 3.2% market share in South Australia and 2.3% in Western Australia.
