Amazon Australia has rolled out its Climate Pledge Friendly initiative, featuring sustainable products from big brands including Dell, Bissell, and Philips.
The program aims to make it easier for customers to find environmentally certified products that meet globally recognised sustainability standards.
Shoppers can now choose from 180,000 verified products, each certified by one of 38 independent organisations, including Rainforest Alliance, OEKO-TEX, and Recycled Claim Standard 100. These certifications cover a range of sustainability features, such as recycled materials, energy efficiency, and responsible production practices.
A dropdown menu provides details about each product’s sustainability credentials and certifications.
“We know many customers are looking for products that have strong environmental and social credentials, which align with their personal values. Climate Pledge Friendly is a simple way for Aussies to make considered choices when shopping with us,” Janet Menzies, Amazon Australia Country Manager said.
“The overseas success of the Climate Pledge Friendly program shows that an increasing number of customers are seeking more sustainable products. We’re excited to be bringing this offering to our Australian customers. It’s all part of our commitment to help customers make more informed shopping choices.”
Other participating brands include Braun, L’OREAL, STEP ONE, Modibodi, and JOONYA.
The Climate Pledge Friendly initiative is also available in Japan, the US, Europe, Mexico, and Brazil.
