Amazon has unveiled its new generation Echo Show 15 featuring a 15.6-inch Full-HD (1080p) display, making it an intuitive smart home management device. Customisable widgets show key information on calendars and schedules, weather, display family photos, lists and music choices.
Amazon Devices country manager for Australia and New Zealand, Patrick Walker said, “With over half a billion Alexa-enabled devices already in households across the globe, we’re thrilled to be launching the latest generation of the Echo Show 15. The Echo Show 15 is the perfect device to help Australians with organisation, smart home management, connect with loved ones and keep the whole family entertained with Fire TV built-in.”
The upgraded Echo Show 15 can be mounted on a wall or placed on a counter with the ability to control smart home devices either via Alexa or the smart home dashboard.
With a built-in smart home hub, the Echo Show 15 is compatible with Matter, Thread and Zigbee devices meaning users can control smart home devices such as switches, lights, and plugs, or check live camera feeds with voice or a few taps of their smart home favourites widget.
With the upgraded camera – equipped with three times zoom and wide field of vision – video calls feel more natural and personal with the powered-up centered, auto framing camera. Added noise reduction technology makes calls even clearer.
When not in use, the home screen can transform into a digital photo frame to show family memories, with the option to auto curate the selection of images, and invite family and friends to also share photos.
The new Echo Show 15 functions as a centralised entertainment hub with built-in Fire TV – and a remote included with purchase – to stream over 250,000+ movies and TV episodes from popular streaming services. The larger Fire TV widget gives users personalised video recommendations in addition to quick access to apps including Prime Video, Apple TV, Netflix, and YouTube.
The new Echo Show 15 is also the first Echo device equipped with Wi-Fi 6E, making Fire TV video and music streaming smoother. The refreshed audio hub allows users to view music, podcast and radio content on one screen, with the ability to quickly group and play audio across these grouped speakers and other Echo speakers in the house.
Alexa and Echo Show devices are designed with multiple layers of privacy protection. Customers have complete transparency and control over their Alexa experience, from the manual mic/camera off button and built-in camera shutter to the ability to delete voice recordings.
Echo Show 15 is also designed with sustainability in mind, with the product being made of 41% recycled materials, and a Low Power Mode which reduces energy consumption when idle. 99% of Echo Show 15’s packaging is made of wood fibre-based materials from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources.
The upgraded Echo Show 15 is available from the Amazon Australia website for RRP $549. The Amazon Premium Adjustable Stand, specifically designed for flexible placement of the Echo Show 15, can be purchased for $169.95 via the Amazon Australia website.
