Following on from our story Wednesday 11 February 2015 on the departure of Andrew Paykel from Fisher & Paykel, the company and Andrew Paykel have issued a joint statement, published in full here:
Andrew Paykel, grandson of co-founder Maurice Paykel, left Fisher & Paykel Appliances prior to Christmas to pursue a long term passion of establishing his own business.
During his time at Fisher & Paykel, Andrew spearheaded the appliance manufacturer’s foray into the United States and Asia, and successfully established Fisher & Paykel’s Thai factory. His more recent role saw him as chief operating officer for the company’s International division, responsible for growth markets such as China and India.
In commenting on his time at Fisher & Paykel, Andrew notes:
“I’ve watched the company grow from a very young age and I’m extremely proud to have been a part of a business that has put the engineering, manufacturing and distribution of whitegoods in New Zealand on the global map. I have been extremely fortunate to have started my time with F&P within the East Tamaki factories then onto various business units around the world, it is those rich working experiences that I look forward to taking with me into the future. I wish Fisher & Paykel all the very best for the future in continuing to grow such an iconic brand.
