YouGov BrandIndex has just published the 2015 Best Brand Ranking for Australia which is again dominated by technology products including Google, You Tube, Apple, Netflix, Samsung and Facebook. In the consumer electronics industry category Apple was ranked number one, followed by Samsung, Dyson, Sony and Microsoft. Aldi took out top spot in the retail category, followed by Coles, Bunnings, Kmart and Big W.
BrandIndex started tracking brands in Australia during the second half of 2015 and currently tracks over 250 brands and the rankings are for Q4, 2015.
Brands are rated using the YouGov Buzz Score which asks respondents, “If you’ve heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word-of-mouth, was it positive or negative?” 100 is the highest positive score and -100 the most negative. A zero score means equal positive and negative feedback.
