UnderCurrent is a bit a late on this one but well done to Samsung and Toshiba on sponsoring the 2015 Asian Cup. The tournament so far has been a roaring success, with big crowds, both on TV and in the stadia.
The only down side so far as been the Socceroos losing to South Korea in their final group game, setting up a potential semifinal showdown with white hot favourites Japan in Newcastle. If you think Football Federation Australia is upset about that, spare a thought of Samsung Australia! The local office has been watching the Stadium Australia matches in an impossibly salubrious corporate suite, right on half way, with exquisite food and plenty of liquid refreshments. Instead of enjoying Australia Day out at Homebush watching the Socceroos trounce a minnow to reach the final, Samsung staff and their lucky guests will instead have to make do with the other semifinal, potentially between Uzbekistan and Iran.
Oh well, at least both companies can take heart from the incredible exposure their brands have received during the tournament!
