ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has launched the new ROG Phone 7 series of gaming smartphones into Australian retailers.
The ROG Phone 7 series includes the ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate models. Sporting a new two-tone design, the series incorporates the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform with advanced GameCool 7 thermal system and special ROG tuning. Driving improved power efficiency is the new rapid-cycle vapour chamber design, which increases heat dissipation efficiency by up to 168%.
This is paired with up to 16GB of 8533Mbps LPDDR5X RAM, and a 512GB UFS 4.0 ROM that’s twice as fast as UFS 3.0. It’s ready for Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with Qualcomm FastConnect 7800, supporting ultrafast 320MHz channels and Multi-Link operation.
The effective volume of the ROG Phone 7 series’ speakers has increased 50% tuned in cooperation with audio specialists, Dirac. ROG Phone 7 series now delivers 2.1-channel sound when the new AeroActive Cooler 7 accessory with subwoofer is attached. The 3.5mm headphone jack and Dirac Virtuo For Headphone theatre-like spatial sound is complemented by Snapdragon Sound technology support enabling low-latency high-fidelity Bluetooth audio.
In addition, the 165Hz Samsung AMOLED display’s peak brightness has significantly increased to 1,500 nits and features AI-generated in-game effects, customisable AirTrigger haptic buttons, and continuous game-setting updates. Visuals are tuned in collaboration with leading visual-processing company Pixelworks for greater colour accuracy.
The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate version also features the unique ROG Vision matrix display on its rear to showcase animations triggered by system events, such as charging status, incoming calls, X-Mode activation, and more. Gamers can also create personalised animations.
The ASUS ROG Phone 7 is available now at the ASUS e-store and major Australian retailers, including JB Hi-Fi with pricing starting from $1,799.
