Beko Australia has experienced very high demand for freezers and certain refrigerator models amid the ongoing threat of COVID-19, managing director John Brown told Appliance Retailer.
“Inventory is in reasonable supply, but high demand may cause shortages soon. Delivery of stock in conjunction with our 3PL providers is continuing to operate without disruption,” he said.
“Beko is committed to slowing the spread of coronavirus with the responsibilities of staff, customers and community being taken more seriously than ever.
“Until May, Beko Australia and New Zealand employees will not be able to travel interstate or within states and staff have been advised to work from home where it is safe and practicable to do so.
“Meetings with customers at stores and offices within states has continued where practicable and where travel by private car is feasible, unless customers request not to do so. Similarly, service calls and repairs for consumers have continued unless consumers or service agents request not to do so.
“The situation is fluid, to say the least, and further restrictions may be imposed by authorities or circumstances which Beko will respond to fully and will communicate to customers and consumers at the time.”
