Jura’s automatic coffee machine the Impressa F8 TFT has been awarded the highest honour at the Red Dot competition, the Red Dot: Best of the Best award for exceptional quality and groundbreaking design.
In 2014, just 1.5 per cent of all nominations received the top award, placing Jura among the leaders in international product design. Within an international competition of this scale, percentages speak volumes.
Of the 4,815 entries from 53 countries, the Red Dot for excellent product design was awarded to 1,120 products, 123 products received an honourable mention, and 72 products can now claim the title of Red Dot: Best of the Best.
Thus 27.3 per cent of all entries won an award, while 3,500 entries were unsuccessful, according to the Red Dot website.
Professor Peter Zec, the initiator and CEO of Red Dot said that only the best products are chosen by the jury to receive the award.
“This is reflected in the percentage of nominations that go on to receive the Red Dot Award, which is much lower than in other international design competitions. It follows that the winners can be justifiably proud of their achievements,” Zec said.
The Impressa F8 is the first product in the Impressa compact class with TFT colour display and can prepare a wide range of beverages including 12 specialty coffees from ristretto to latte macchiato. Other highlights include a hot water and steam function for heating or foaming milk, as well as the innovative latte macchiato system and height-adjustable coffee and milk spouts.
The Impressa F8 will be launched in Australia in June, RRP $1850.
Jura joins fellow Red Dot winners Nespresso and Breville. A full list of winners will be revealed publically after the official ceremony on 7 July 2014. In the meantime, if your company has been award a Red Dot please get in touch.
