Bing Lee general manager, Phil Moujaes has made the decision to step aside from his role, effective 31 December 2019. He will be succeeded by deputy general manager, Peter Harris.
After 20 years with Bing Lee and 16 years as general manager, Moujaes decided a few months back to step aside and take six to eight months leave from July 2020 to travel and live in Italy with his wife Barbara.
Between January and June, Moujaes will assist with the transition to the new management team headed up by Harris. He will also continue to head up the technology modernisation project which commenced two years ago.
In a statement shared with Appliance Retailer, Moujaes said: “I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the support I have received in all the years I have served as general manager from the Lee family, in particular my friend and CEO Lionel Lee, from the Bing Lee management team at Old Guildford and all the Bing Lee employees at the warehouse and in stores. I would not have been successful in my job without their support and loyalty.”
Former e&s general manager, Sam Zalin has joined Bing Lee as merchandise and marketing director. Prior to e&s, Zalin was with Winning Appliances, most recently as head of buying and marketing.
Chris Murphy has been appointed head of retail replacing Ritchie Djamhur who left the business in November. Murphy brings over 25 years of retail experience across all levels.
