Brother has launched two new compact and connected mobile receipt printers for retail staff to take their point-of-sale (POS) on the go and service customers wanting to purchase an item while on the shop floor without needing to queue at the register.
The printers also address online growth by increasing the efficiency of services such as Click & Collect by easing congestion at the counter and reducing time for customers, as well as minimising movement within the store to better adhere to social distancing requirements.
The two-inch RJ-2035B and the three-inch RJ-3035B, RRP $449 and $649 respectively, are lightweight receipt printers that can be used for a multitude of tasks including retail purchase receipts, as well as shipping reports and invoices.
The series is fast printing at up to 4 inches per second (ips) with high-quality printing at 203dpi and most printer command languages such as ZPL2 are supported. The devices have drop protection of up to 1.8 metres (IP42), Bluetooth functionality to communicate with other smart products, and include customisable add-ons such as a shoulder strap, rechargeable lithium-ion battery and car adapter.
“The retail and logistics landscapes are drastically changing, as new measures are regularly put in place during this period, and we anticipate that many of these changes will remain long term,” Brother International Australia mobile print and labelling specialist, David Molloy said.
“The new RJ series comes at a time where our customers are looking to innovate the way they manage their businesses, by sourcing bespoke solutions for all the processes they have to put in place to keep trading efficiently and operating in line with new protocol.
“Our new affordable mobile printers have been created with our customers in mind, to be compatible, flexible and well connected. In addition, the series has a range of customisation options to fulfil the requirements of different vertical applications, reflecting the needs of those working in the field or in retail. The series is ideal for forward-thinking organisations who need speedy, responsive mobile printing for flexibility and high levels of productivity.”
